François Hugo is a registered Clinical Psychologist and obtained his Doctorate from the University of South Africa (UNISA). Before he joined the financial services he was an Associate Professor at the University of Johannesburg. He has been with the FirstRand Group for 27 years where he was the HR Director for FNB and later for FirstRand. He is currently an International Executive Coach, Management and Organizational Consultant. He currently consults to the FirstRand Group, AfriSam, Assupol, Alnet and others. He has acted as a psychologist for the Proteas, the National Cricket Team, and consulted the Kolkata Knight Riders. He conducted workshops abroad e.g. Pakistan, India and Australia and he also lectures on a regular basis at GIBS and other business schools. He is the author of two published books; Kartonengel and Soos ‘n Birimankwe.
