Bled (Slovenia) December 11 2015: The highest honour IEDC can offer - honorary title Doctor Honoris Causa - was entitled to Prof. Jim Ellert.
Professor James C. Ellert has enriched with his knowledge and wisdom thousands of managers and leaders from different generations, from all continents. IEDC is particularly grateful for his contribution in the field of finance in Central and Eastern Europe.
Prof. Purg stressed: 'Prof. Ellert is above all a great teacher of finance, one of the best in the world. His commitment to students, whether they study in the MBA program or at the faculty development program, is unique'
Prof. Ellert, who has been teaching finance to MBA students at IEDC for 25 years, was also chosen for the Professor of the Year!
Prof. Ellert stressed: "At IEDC, relative to the practice in other business schools, we strive to teach finance in ways that place much less emphasis on demonstrating the mathematical elegance of financial models and much more emphasis on how the model conclusions can help managers to develop a structured approach to practical and responsible financial decision making."
