As Licensee Proprietor and President of Avis Rent A Car Albania, as Managing Director of the OPEL General Motors Albanian Representation, Co-Chairman of ACMS (Albanian Center for Management Services), founder of Architecture & Urban Planning University of POLIS, Gazmend Haxhia has worked to effect change and produce businesses reflecting the intersection of entrepreneurship, creativity, fairness, and sound management.

He has served as aide to the Albanian Prime Minister on issues of Public Administration in general and wage and remuneration policy in particular and currently acts as external advisor to the Speaker of the Albanian Parliament on special issues. As a consultant to USAid, the World Bank, the Albanian Government, the Institute of Training of Public Administration, he has worked to produce reports for the Albanian Government, to write modules, and become involved in “train the trainers” sessions, and finally to offer advice on how to bring about required change. As a lecturer, he has prepared for five consecutive year courses in “Ethics and Anticorruption” and a course in “Marketing Services” to the American Graduate MBA/MPA Program in Tirana. As a speaker, he has offered management courses in entrepreneurship and creativity to Albanian businessmen.

He was born in Tirana in 1968. From the beginnings he was told (he has two elder sisters both very successful businesswomen) that the sky is the limit if we try and work hard and do it honestly.

He graduated from Tirana University and attended Columbia University in New York City from which he holds a Master's Degree. He returned after graduation to work in Albania.

He was named as Young Global Leader 2008 by the Davos Economic Forum Jury.
