Zagreb, December 2 2019: IEDC –Bled School of Management is for a third year in a row a partner of the business event »Gospodarstvenik godine i gospodarski događaj godine 2019« in Croatia, which is organized by two leading business newspapers in Croatia: Večernji list and Poslovni dnevnik.
The award recognises the most successful business leader and economic event in Croatia. A manager of the year 2019 award was conferred to Mr. Mate Rimac, a Croatian innovator, entrepreneur, and founder of the Croatian car company Rimac Automobili in 2009. Rimac started mooting an electric supercar at the age of 20. He started his car efforts in his garage, growing his company out, into a pair of companies. As a child, he dreamed of building the fastest car. He has stated that his goal is to bring automotive manufacturers to Croatia. Forbes Magazine named Rimac one of the Top 30 Under 30, the 30 best entrepreneurs under the age of 30 of the world, in 2017. Rimac was named the Croatian Entrepreneur of the Year in 2017 by EY Hrvatska (Ernst&Young Croatia).
Awards for the economic events in Croatia in 2019 were announcement of the initial public offering of Infobip shares on the New York Stock Exchange. Economic Event of the Year by Reader's Choice - Refinancing Roll-Up Loans at Fortenova Group.
Event also honours the best SMEs in three categories - revenue, employment and investment growth. The winners were selected by Poslovni dnevnik and experts from Bisnode, with the winners being Electrocoin in the income growth category, Securitas Croatia in the employment growth category and Novo gaming in the investment growth category.
Danica Purg conferred the award to Ivan Ročić, President of the Board of Securitas Hrvatska.
