Prof. Dr. Arnold Walravens is Chair of the Postgraduate Studies and Quality Commission at IEDC-Bled School of Management. He teaches the courses on Corporate Governance and Arts and Leadership in Executive MBA and General Management Programs at IEDC-Bled School of Management.
He is Professor Emeritus of Economic Sociology at the University of Technology, Delft, The Netherlands, where he also served as the dean of the Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Technology, Twente, the Netherlands and served as faculty member at the Free University of Amsterdam.
His academic research focuses on various topics, such as participation and human resources, corporate governance, arts and leadership, executive development, and artificial intelligence. As UNDP/ILO consultant, he was active in Zambia, dealing with workers’ participation, privatization issues and corporate governance. For fifteen years he served as the chairman of the Commission for Entrepreneurship of the Dutch Economic Institute for Small and Medium-sized Companies.
Prof. Dr. Walravens served as Chairman of the Supervisory Board Achmea Insurances, Connexxion, Tauw Infra Consult, and Sneep bv, and as a member of the board of multinational companies as Bull Netherlands, CSM, Rabobank and Wolters-Kluwer.
He is director-owner of “Aan de Oude Delft”, Art and Auction Services.
