Join us for the webinar in the framework of the BECOME Project titled "The IKEA way: circular economy in action" on February 24 at 11:00 CET, online, with Sanja Končar (IKEA, Croatia) and Žan Plestenjak (IKEA, Slovenia).
Sanja is a sustainability expert with extensive experience in leading environmental initiatives and promoting sustainable practices. She leads sustainability projects at IKEA Croatia and numerous initiatives that have reduced carbon footprint and improved sustainable business practices.
As Product Quality & Recovery Manager in IKEA Slovenia, Žan leads a team dedicated to ensuring our products meet the highest quality standards while maximizing their potential for reuse. By recovering and reintegrating items that would typically be discarded, we reduce waste and generate additional revenue. Our work sits at the intersection of quality, circularity, and sustainable value creation for the company.
About the topic:
As part of our ambition to contribute to limiting climate change to 1.5°C, decouple growth from resource use, and become a just and regenerative business, IKEA is transitioning towards a circular business. We will share our journey so far with operational examples from IKEA Croatia and IKEA Slovenia.
