In August, we revealed them. In October, the work begins.
We screened more than 203,000 Slovenian companies. One hundred stood out for their growth potential, and they were selected on data, not instinct. Selection was step one.
On 7 October in Bled, we take step two. Future 100 companies, government, capital and strategic partners sit at the same table. We turn a conversation about barriers into a plan with names, owners and deadlines.
This is not a day of speeches. It's a working day.
Morning: how the best do it. Anže Logar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Economy, Labour and Sport, opens the day with a question: what do competitive states do for their companies – and what will Slovenia do for its next hundred? Then we look at what billion-dollar companies do, and what Slovenian firms can take from them. Six founders share how they raised capital, and no two paths are alike: EU grants, international venture capital, a major growth investment, Kickstarter, and growth without giving up a single share of equity. To close the morning, capital providers answer the question companies rarely hear out loud: what do you need to see before you invest?
Afternoon: from barriers to measures. The doors close. Leon Korošec, State Secretary at the Ministry of the Economy, Labour and Sport, opens the working session, and from there government is not in the audience but at the table: every table brings together companies and a representative of the relevant public institution. Six tables tackle six barriers: capital, talent, R&D and technology, internationalisation, regulation and European instruments. Each table leaves with one priority and no more than two measures, each with an owner and a deadline. You'll have them in writing within 14 days.
To close: recognition. The Future 100 Slovenia companies are formally recognised – a reminder that selection is only the start of the journey.
Slovenia has its hundred. Now it's time to help them grow.
