Vita Godec
Managing Director, Lenis farmacevtika
Vita is a Biochemist who started her career in academia as a Young Researcher at the University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology. There she also defended her PhD, for which she received the Krka award. Her research focused on the synthesis of new small molecules that could act as antimicrobials, which was also the red line of her post-doctoral research at the School of Life Science at the University of Warwick in the UK, backed up by the International Fellowship she received from the UNESCO-L’Oréal foundation “For Women in Science”. After her return to Slovenia, she joined Lek, a Sandoz company, as a Scientist in Drug Product Development. In 2015, Vita completed the IEDC Bled School of Management Executive 1-year EMBA program. Since then, she worked as a Business Development Manager, COO and from 2022 as Managing Director in Lenis farmacevtika, a Slovenian company that focuses on improving access to speciality and hard-to-get medicines in Central and Eastern Europe. Vita’s major projects in Lenis so far include implementation and validation of new ERP and BI systems and leading the merger and integration of the daughter company Medicopharmacia. Her passion lies in building a great team of coworkers and optimising business processes through digitalisation. Vita’s work was also recognised by the American Chamber of Commerce in Slovenia through the “AmCham Top Potential 2018” award and by Managers’ Association of Slovenia with the 2023 “Artemida” award.
