Custom Programmes

Built from scratch around the team you are trying to build.

You know what your leaders need to be able to do that they cannot do yet. Custom Programmes turn that into a designed journey, built around your industry and your strategy, running anywhere from a focused week to a full year.
A programme that exists because you asked for it

Custom Programmes are taught programmes designed for one company. There is no existing course to join: you set the brief, and everything from the content to the timetable follows from it.

You set the objectives. From there we weight the design — more strategy or more leadership, more classroom or more fieldwork — and run it at Bled, at your offices, or across both, as a single intensive week or a year of spaced modules. The other half of IEDC Custom is Custom Solutions: senior practitioners working a live business decision alongside your team. Many companies use both.

How Custom Solutions Work?
Right when

YOU ARE BUILDING A BENCH

The next chapter needs leaders at a level you do not have yet, and the people to grow into those roles are already on the payroll.

A GROUP HAS TO MOVE TOGETHER

Your executive team, your top fifty, or the cohort behind them. Individual improvement is the easy part. The harder thing, and the reason to do this as a group, is that they come out of it aligned with one another.

THE OFF-THE-SHELF VERSION KEEPS MISSING

You have sent good people on good courses and watched the learning fail to survive contact with your business.

SOMETHING HAS TO CHANGE CULTURALLY

This is about how your leaders behave under pressure and what they are prepared to expect of one another, which no amount of new knowledge fixes on its own.

How a programme gets built

Four steps, and you are in the room for all of them. A senior steering committee, led by a Programme Director, is set up at the start and stays with the programme to the end.

We agree where you want to be

Before anyone designs anything, we establish what has to be different at the end, and how that connects to your strategy and the challenges in front of the business. Depending on how clear that already is, it is either a conversation with your top team or a formal assessment of what your managers need.

We design it

Once we know what the programme has to achieve, we build the format and the content with you. A straightforward brief can be settled in a meeting or two; a demanding one takes months and several rounds. Where it helps, we write new material specifically for you — including case studies on your own business, and research done for your situation.

We run it

At Bled, at your offices, or off-site, and hybrid where digital resources need to carry the experience between modules. Participants work on your company’s real examples, and they are expected to arrive with their own. A Programme Manager handles everything administrative and logistical, which in most programmes is the part that quietly eats the client’s time.

We measure what changed

Every session is evaluated, so the programme can be tuned while it runs and improved for the next cohort. Which tools we use depends on what the programme is for — a skills programme needs different measurement from a transformational one. We can work with what you already use, including 360-degree review.

What it is like in the room

Sessions run on discussion. Participants are expected to bring their own business experience into the room and work with it, which is worth saying before people arrive.

IN THE ROOM

Sessions built on your own cases, practical exercises, small-team work, facilitated discussion and workshops.

BETWEEN SESSIONS

Material written for your programme, supplementary reading for those who want it, project-based work, reflection papers, and a virtual classroom carrying the journey across modules.

BEYOND THE CLASSROOM

Team-building, and learning from art and sport. There is also what we call friendly consulting: faculty are available on your real problems outside the timetable, and a good deal of the useful work happens there.

Programmes we have built

Every programme below was designed for one company, around the situation that company was in, against objectives it set itself.

They are here to show shape. What a programme covers, how long it runs and who sits in the room all follow from your objectives, so the same brief from three different companies would produce three different programmes.

EFFECTIVE LEADERSHIP PROGRAMME

Designed for: senior leaders taking on wider responsibility.

LEADERSHIP ACADEMY

Designed for: leaders responsible for teams, decisions and delivery.

Talent Development Programme

Designed for: high-potential managers being prepared for broader roles.

Companies we have worked with

Wide industry and geographic coverage, across globally recognised brands and family businesses in this region — which is where a good deal of the experience in the room comes from.

Who teaches

Your team works with practitioners who educate and educators who practise — people with credentials from both worlds, leading institutions and leading businesses. They know this region: your markets, your ownership structures, your talent realities.
