Bled, September 3, 2019: During her official visit to Slovenia, the President of the Republic of Estonia, Ms Kersti Kaljulaid visited IEDC – Bled School of Management. She was welcomed by Prof. Danica Purg, Dean and President. Prof. Purg introduced the three pillars of IEDC - ethics, sustainability and arts and leadership and shared some milestones of IEDC. IEDC has some well-established relations with Estonia through CEEMAN and research on Hidden Champions. Until this day more than 40 participants from Estonia attended IEDC and CEEMAN international development programs for faculty and staff.

Ms. Kersti Kaljulaid delivered a lecture on success story of Estonian digital transformation in front of IEDC MBA participants, alumni and guests. In her speech she shared the challenges of Estonia after 1991 when the country became independent and how it found advantages in being small and confident in developing its own currency, tax reform and privatisation. Today Estonia is a  role model for digital transformation and one of the most advanced countries in e-commerce and e-governance.
