Philip Stiles is University Senior Lecturer in Organizational Behavior at the Judge Business School, University of Cambridge. Dr. Stiles' major research interests centre around three areas. First, he is concerned with HRM and change management processes and in particular, how companies attempt to transform themselves while keeping the commitment and motivation of employees. His book`Strategic Human Resource Management', was published by Oxford University Press in 2000. His second area of investigation is human capital, and how firms are devising and implementing human capital programs. The third area is the role of board directors and the nature of board dynamics. A book derived from this research `Boards at Work' was published by Oxford University Press in 2001. Dr. Stiles has taught Organizational Behavior, Human Resource Management, Leadership, and Change Management, to MBAs and executives in the United Kingdom, The Netherlands, United Arab Emirates, France, Germany, Republic of Ireland, Canada, the United States and Slovenia, where he is a visiting professor at the IEDC-Bled School of Management. He has also consulted to a number of organizations including multinationals such as BP, BT, GlaxoSmithkline, Otis, Kraft Foods, Unilever, Vodafone, as well as public sector organizations such as the Metropolitan Police, the Prison Service, the NHS, and the Benefits Agency.
